In the rapidly developing industrial era, the efficient processing of slurries in fields such as lithium batteries and chemicals is a challenge that practitioners must face. Well-dispersed slurries with a high solid phase volume fraction are easily affected by various impurities during the process, leading to surface adhesion that impacts material dispersion and slurry flowability. Additionally, slurries often contain residues of anions, cations, and other elements; failure to clean them thoroughly can affect the performance and application of the powder. To enhance product purity, slurries rich in impurity ions need to undergo repeated washing and filtration. However, this process comes with numerous challenges. Most powder particles, due to their small size, large specific surface area, and strong surface physical and chemical interactions, tend to agglomerate strongly, forming a sol system and making the washing and filtration of slurries very difficult.
Traditional Slurry Processing
Traditional slurry processing methods, such as plate and frame filter presses, often result in the formation of dense filter cake layers during solid-liquid separation, leading to clogged filter media where impurity ions are trapped, thereby reducing washing efficiency. Once the media is clogged, the filtration rate decreases rapidly, resulting in poor solid-liquid separation efficiency, necessitating repetitive equipment loading, unloading, and cleaning, severely impacting the continuity and automation of production processes. This not only causes material losses but also reduces capacity and increases labor intensity.
