Filtration & Separation Solutions
Embrace Ultimate Application Challenges of Filtration, Separation, and Purification Technology
Polymerization Process
Water filtration for polymerization processes
• Polymers such as polypropylene, polyethylene, polyester, polyvinyl chloride, etc. will be manufactured in pellet form
• The granulator polymerizes the resin to form particles.
• Quench water is used to help the particles form, but must be filtered to maintain water quality
• Urban water and river water are the main sources of chilled water
• Proper filtration removes sand, iron and organic matter to prevent contaminants in the water from adhering to the particle surface
• After the particles are formed, the cleaning water is used to remove impurities in the air, which can also adhere to the surface of the particles
• Lack of filtration can lead to low quality products, reducing their market value
Recommended Products
• PP / N66 folding filter element
Market
• Any polymerization process (e. g. polypropylene, polyethylene, PVC)
Benefit
• Reduced colloid formation
• Reduce catalyst contamination
• More complete aggregation
• Improve conversion efficiency
• Reduce spinneret clogging/expensive textile equipment damage
• Protects expensive high polymer filters/reduces cleaning frequency
• Extended filter life
