Polymerization Process

 

Water filtration for polymerization processes

• Polymers such as polypropylene, polyethylene, polyester, polyvinyl chloride, etc. will be manufactured in pellet form

• The granulator polymerizes the resin to form particles.

• Quench water is used to help the particles form, but must be filtered to maintain water quality

• Urban water and river water are the main sources of chilled water

• Proper filtration removes sand, iron and organic matter to prevent contaminants in the water from adhering to the particle surface
