Vane pads are used to knock out liquid from gas phase. Vane pads are a group of closely spaced blades arranged to provide sinusoidal or zig-zag gas flow paths. Vane pads can be installed in both vertical and horizontal orientation. It is however, not recommended for dirty services as plugging may happen causing the reduction in separation efficiency.

Vanes Separators are design in accordance with ASME VIII Div.1

Principle of Operation:
Vane pad removes liquid droplets by forcing the gas to move in a zig-zag pattern in the vanes. The change of flow direction and impingement of droplets onto the blades will cause the droplets to coalesce into larger droplets. These larger and heavier droplets will subsequently be drained to the bottom of the vessel by the down-comer leaving the drier gas moving out of the vessel.

Separation Efficiency:
Vane Pads are capable to remove 99~99.5% of liquid droplets of 10 micron and larger.

Applications:
Vane Pads are widely used in chemical and petrochemical industries where removal of liquids from the gas stream is required like condensate, acids, lubricant oil, recovery of product for pollutant control etc.
